Click on the links below to find the answers to the questions.
Where is my money invested?
You can choose from a wide range of funds. The funds can invest in a range of stocks and shares, government stocks and commercial property in the UK and overseas. Each fund is made up of units and we use your investment to buy units in the fund(s) you choose. The range of investment funds that you can invest in carry different types and levels of risk. For more information on the available funds please contact your financial adviser.
How will I know how my bond is doing?
We’ll send you yearly statements. You can ask for an update at any time, and you can check the unit prices of your funds on our website. Our site also holds information, investment views and past performance statistics on all our funds. Or you can contact our customer service desk on 0345 366 7725, Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 12.30pm. We may record your call for quality and training purposes.
Can I change my mind?
Yes, you can change your mind within 30 days from when you get your plan documents. Please bear in mind that if you decide to cancel we’ll give you your money back less any fall in the value of your investment.
What happens if I die?
Your bond comes to an end when the relevant life assured dies and we’ll pay out 101% of its value. If you (or another relevant life assured) were age 80 or more when an investment was made, the amount paid reduces to 100% of the value of the units bought by that investment.
If you (or the last life assured, depending on how your bond is set up), die as a direct result of an accident, we’ll increase the amount to 110% of the value regardless of age when the bond was set up or any investment made. Your policy provisions will give you full details of this ‘accidental death benefit’. Your bond will be set up to end when the last person dies.
What are the charges?
We charge for managing and investing your bond. We take charges from the value of your bond and may take some from your investment amount(s). Please see your personal illustration, Key Information Documents (KIDs) and Additional Information Document (AID) for more details. Charges, limits and terms may change in the future.
