ABOUT YOU

TELL US ABOUT YOU

To help you decide if transferring is right for you, we’d like to know a little more about you.

This is a pension which has been set up by a current or past employer. It may also be known as a ‘workplace pension’, ‘group personal pension’ or ‘group stakeholder pension’.

Please note, if the policy number you wish to transfer in to starts with 'ZU', you can’t transfer to us online. Instead, call us on 0800 032 1260 (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm). You can also email us to request a form.

This is a type of pension which gives you more freedom. You can carry on saving for the future. And, once you turn 55, it allows you to access your pension how and when you want.

An individual personal pension is a plan which you’ve set up with us that is not a Retirement Account. Normally, only you pay into this plan.

You might have a pension with us that doesn’t fit any of the above descriptions. Or you may have more than one pension with us.

Either way, we can help you check if you can transfer to us. We’ll also explain your options, so you can decide which pension you might want to combine into.

For more, call our Pension helpdesk:

0345 608 0380

Lines are open 9am-5pm (Monday to Friday).

If you’re not sure which type of pension you have with us, call our Pension helpdesk to find out more.

QUESTIONS WE'RE OFTEN ASKED

  • The details we give you here, and when you call us, are what’s known as guidance. We’ll give you information, but we won’t advise you what to do.

If you don’t feel confident to decide about pension transfers, and you want more support, you can speak to a financial adviser. They’ll normally charge you for this advice. Find out how to get a financial adviser.

If you plan to take money from your pension soon after you transfer to us, this is an important decision. You could get free and impartial guidance about your pension options from Pension Wise from Moneyhelper.

If you are intending to access your pension benefits soon after transferring, we’ll ask if you’ve had financial advice or Pension Wise guidance, or if you would like some before proceeding with your transfer.

Read our guide to find out more, including what guidance from Pension Wise entails, where you can find an adviser and when you’ll pay a fee.

  • As you move from job to job, it can be easy to lose track of your pensions. If you’d like help, you can use a pension tracing service.

The Government’s Pension Tracing Service is a great place to start your search.
